Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) welcomes the opportunity to comment on the proposed
2024 updates to the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) scheme. Urgent updates
are required to the scheme, particularly in relation to the existing monitoring, verification, and
reporting (MRV) standards in the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (Measurement)
Determination 2008 (Cth) (Measurement Determination) as relates to methane emissions.
