Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), more commonly known as drones, are increasingly used for commercial and recreational photography and videography, and for monitoring and enforcement by regulators (such as those regulating vegetation clearance).
As use of drones increases, concerns have grown regarding risks to privacy, noise, interference with signals, and disturbance of bird species. This fact sheet briefly examines the rules for drone use in Tasmania.
