Environmental Defenders Office has made a submission on the WA climate change issues paper.
Our submission argues that Western Australia’s new State Climate Change Policy should proactively and effectively respond to climate change by driving reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening resilience to climate impacts and should reflect contemporary climate science and the urgent action that is required to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. It should provide a whole-of-economy roadmap, pathway and plan to reducing emissions and transitioning to a resilient, low-carbon economy.
