In response to EDO’s groundbreaking case of behalf of Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action (BSCA), the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has prepared a draft Climate Policy and Action Plan. This is a vitally important step in recognising and clarifying the duty of the EPA to address climate change and regulate greenhouse gas pollution. Community feedback on the policy can be submitted until 3 November 2022.

Hear from Rachel Walmsley (Head of Policy and Law Reform at EDO) Matt Floro (Special Counsel at EDO) and Fiona Lee (BSCA) who will outline key features of the draft policy and discuss how it can be supported, strengthened and improved.

EDO has prepared a Briefing Note that provides our initial analysis on the EPA’s Draft Climate Change Policy and Action Plan and identifies key issues to support and strengthen the EPA’s proposals.

EDO has also prepared a Submission Guide to assist you in writing a submission to support and strengthen the EPA’s Draft Climate Change Policy and Action Plan.

EDO has also drafted our own submission which provides our analysis of the Draft Policy & Action Plan and identifies key issues to support and strengthen in the proposed framework.
