EDO welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Department of Health and Aged Care’s consultation on the National Health and Climate Strategy. EDO endorses the Department’s initiative in acknowledging the dangerous health impacts of climate change and in developing the strategy. These are both important steps that will assist Australia to better combat climate change and its associated negative health implications.
In this submission, we make 11 recommendations which, if adopted by the Australian government, will strengthen the strategy and the government’s broader climate adaptation and mitigation policies.
