The opportunity:

We are looking for a talented Administration Officer to join our IT Team.  This role offers the opportunity to make an impact on climate and environmental justice in Australia by providing critical IT support to EDO’s legal and other teams.  This role is integral to the service delivery of the IT business function to the rest of the organisation.  You will assist the IT Manager with general administration within the IT team including asset management, user management, administration of groups, distribution lists and mailboxes, and administration of various IT systems.  The IT Officer will provide basic IT support to end users and liaise between users and our managed services provider to ensure resolution of more technically complex issues.  The IT Officer will also act as a liaison between the organisation and various vendors and IT contractors. 

This position is based in Sydney or Brisbane, however remote working options will be considered for the right candidate.

Candidate Profile:

You are an experienced administration professional with an aptitude and interest in IT and technology generally.  You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, solid experience with IT systems and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and software.  You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to assist non-technical staff to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.

You are interested in climate justice, human rights, the rights of First Nations and the environment and want an opportunity to provide support within an organisation working towards these goals.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An interest in and aptitude for technology and systems with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to systems you haven’t used previously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and to deadlines.

Substantive experience

  • Experience in an administration role.  Administration within an IT team is highly desirable but not essential.
  • High degree of competency with IT systems, including Microsoft Office products and Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with legal IT systems including LEAP and CLASS is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is desirable.
